Background

Agape Foundation (AFG) ) is based in Grenada, West Indies and was legally registered in November 2007 as an educational institution. This initiative comes out of years and years of fervent prayer and deep yearning to engage in actions that communicate our faith in an infinite, personal, Triune God actions that are needful, meaningful and relevant in an ultra-modern, post-Christian world.

Joan Purcell, a Christian and Caribbean woman, supported by a small group of friends, has responded to this call of the heart with the commitment to move into purpose-full, Christ-centered ministry. The intent of which is to release redeemed personhood, righteous servant-hood and stewardship, transformed characters and communities, and to disciple individuals and institutions within the nation.

Over the past ten years, AFG has successfully facilitated weekend retreats in personal and spiritual development for adult women and teen moms. And has hosted two Teddy Victor Memorial Dialogues and conducted five Vision of Change Seminars for young leaders, and has launched a Mentoring Ministry for young women.

In this its eleventh year of functioning, based on a ministry review and identification of some ministry priorities, AFG will commence its operation through the work of Discipling the Nation Network Grenada (DNN GDA) which is "a school of thought, not an institution". DNN GDA is a local expression of the Disciple the Nation Alliance (DNA) global community of Christ followers. . Its purpose is to serve the Body of Christ, "to rise to its full potential as God's principal agent in restoring, healing and blessing broken nations". The goal is to help the Church of Jesus Christ carry out its mission of impacting every aspect of life with the message of the Kingdom.

AFG remains committed to its stated mandate of advancing the kingdom of God by preparing leaders, providing mentorship, empowering people and building community; in other words - discipling the nation, for the glory of God and the well being of the peoples of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique and the wider Caribbean.
